“I’m So Busy” | Dating & Time Excuse

Ladies and gentleman, if a person you’re interested in says, “they’re too busy”… Myself included, and “hasn’t had time…”

They are just not that into you.

I make time to go for a run nearly every night, why? Because that’s my time to unwind and get my cardio in. It’s what makes me happy. I make the time to cuddle up in my bed and watch the next episode on Netflix I’m obsessed with because I like to. Somehow no matter how busy I am, I always find the time to eat and sleep because it’s a human necessity. An immensely strong human drive that we often make too much time for is pleasure.

People make time for the things they value.

And you can be your butt each and every one of us can take 5 seconds out of our 24 hour days to see/call/text/meet someone if it’s truly important to us. It’s not about having time, but making time.

So tell me, Channing Tatum or a Victoria Secret model asks you to spare 20 minutes today… are you busy?

Nope, cause you’ll make the time.

So maybe the “I’m just so busy” cliche should turn into a brutally, honest answer no one wants to hear.

Example:

“You are really (insert adjective), it’s just not working out for me, I’m sorry.” (No excuse given.)

Message clearer, problem solved.

Yeah, it may hurt. But what’s worse… uncomfortably pursuing this crush you hardly know, simply to spend time with a person that genuinely doesn’t feel the same about you? Or receiving a clear, unambiguous, stinging truth that will ultimately guide you to a more fulfilling partner?

There’s nothing more beautiful than finding someone who is just as crazy about you as you are them.

Let’s save the busy excuse and start hurting people’s feelings being honest.

I think most would agree that a second of rejection is better than weeks worth of useless persuasion.

Let’s be real.

    1. Thank you! After a relationship for nearly 6 years and traveling after college, I definitely have had my fair share of dating. Good and bad! I think it’s best to be honest, even if it’s harder to do.

  1. “Your page is really verbose and oversimplified, it’s just not working out for me, I’m sorry.” (No excuse given.)
